Outdoor Rec Day

Each year the district hosts our annual Outdoor Rec Day. On September 11, six small schools throughout the county gathered at Piute Mountain School for a fun-filled day. The schools in attendance were Elk Hills, Belridge, McKittrick, Midway, Linns Valley and, of course, Caliente and Piute Mtn Schools.

Shoes:

There are several different events that the students migrate through. Horseshoess are always a hit.

Arrow:

The Archery event is also very popular.

Hula:

We offer all sizes of Hula-Hooping.

There are many, many more events each year and we rely on the help of all of our dedicated volunteers. Each student proudly displays their ribbons.

Chow:

And everybody enjoys the snack bar.

NEW THIS YEAR...

Please note - although the first day of school
is July 20, we will be holding our "Back to School"
Night on Thursday, July 16 from 5:30 - 7:00. Come
meet the teacher, learn expectations and bring
your favorite dessert to share. Volunteering feels
good and really helps out. Sign up.

Another New - this - year is Friday we will have
a 1:30 dismissal!

A Piece of Cake!

The students are learning how to decorate cakes.

Shane and Shannon Comer are kindly offering thier

skills to the students and each month the cake is cut and

served to celebrate the Birthdays of that month.

Happy New Year

We will start our second half of the school year on Monday, January 5, 2009.
School hours are 8:15 am to 2:45 pm.
Please check your child's backpacks for important correspondence.
We had a very white vacation. In case of a school delay or closure, please
watch Bakersfield channels or listen to Bakersfield Radio. The district will
issue an automated alert by phone to each family. However, this alert will not be sent if there
is no power. In the case of no power, please use your own good judgment.
